JOB POSTING Police Secretary: Morrison Police Department 321 Highway 8 Morrison CO 80012 303-697-4810 Police Secretary: A person appointed by the Chief of Police to perform a variety of routine and complex clerical and secretarial support for the Police Department who shall work under the close supervision of the Administrative Lieutenant and Chief of Police. Desired Qualifications: High School graduate or GED equivalent. Specialized course work in general office practices such as typing (45-50 WPM), filing, accounting and light bookkeeping or two years work experience in an administrative assistant, secretarial capacity. Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Working knowledge of computers and electronic data processing, modern office practices and procedures, accounting principals and practices and the operation of modern office equipment. The Police Secretary must effectively meet and deal with the public, communicate effectively verbally and in writing and handle stressful situations. Tools and Equipment Used: Phones, personal computer, copy machine, fax machine, base police radio, calculator, cell phone and postage machine. Employee must be able to multi-task to perform the responsibilities and duties of this position. Work Environment: An office environment, low noise level, telephones ringing, police radio on, citizens and police officers in and out of the office.
